Description
Directed by legendary filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard, HELAS POUR MOI is based on the great Italian poet Leopardi and his description of mankind's slow, difficult path, with the anxiety and constant worry dogging the creator. The film is also inspired by the legend of Alkmena and Amphitryon, trying to show a god's wish to experience human desire. The goal is to learn where love begins, where it takes place, and how creation comes into being. Nominated for a Golden Lion Award at the **Venice International Film Festival.** *"No one else makes films so alive with ideas of executed with as much daring, beauty of humor." - Hal Hinson, **Washington Post*** *"Jean-Luc Godard's most spiritual film is also his most opaque." - Jonathan Rosenbaum, **Chicago Reader***
