Description
Documents the travels of the four members (Roger Krieps, Henrietta "Heng" Krieps-Close, Jean Kieffer, Marie-Louise Kieffer-Breden) of the Luxembourg Millennium Mission to America in 1962. Vignettes of the lives and communities of emigrant Luxembourgers and Luxembourg-Americans across the U.S. are shown. Places visited include Chicago, Port Washington, Belgium, and Madison (Wis.), Rollingstone and Saint Paul (Minn.), Dubuque and St. Donatus (Iowa), Orgeon and Washington, Los Angeles, Baltimore, and New York City. Bonus segment: montage of photographs and other works depicting scenes from Luxembourg, immigrants to the United States, and Luxembourg-Americans are shown over a recording of the "Roots and leaves march."
