Johnny Diamond was just a kid when his entire family was wiped out and the stock was run off. He'd been away at school or he'd be dead too. Now, six years after the massacre, Johnny is heading north from his Texas ranch, hell-bent on revenge. The murderers were thought to be Apaches, but Johnny has found a clue in the murders - a clue that turns the theory of an Apache killing on its head. He found a copper disk that was negotiable for drinks at a bar located in Las Perdidas County, Colorado - hardly something the Apaches would have left behind.
